Nivalis Nights — Troubleshooting
Start with the reversible checks recommended in the official FAQ below. They can help identify the cause, but are not guaranteed fixes for every bug. Keep a separate save backup before changing files or reinstalling.
The game will not launch
Check that your PC meets the minimum requirements, then restart Steam and your PC. In your Steam Library, right-click Nivalis Nights and choose Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files. Update the graphics driver from NVIDIA, AMD or Intel. Temporarily close background apps and overlays, then test again. Record the exact error message if it still fails.
Low frame rate
Lower the graphics preset first, then adjust resolution or individual settings one at a time. Close background apps and check the graphics driver is current. The listed minimum targets 1080p at 30 FPS on Very Low; the recommended setup targets 1440p at 60 FPS on High. These targets are a guide, not a guarantee. DLSS and FSR are not currently supported, so lowering the preset or resolution is the practical starting point.
Protect your saves
Save manually from the Pause Menu before quitting; autosaves occur at the end of each day. Do not delete save files as a troubleshooting step. Keep a separate backup and let Steam Cloud finish synchronizing before switching PCs. Cloud synchronization requires an internet connection; offline progress synchronizes when you reconnect.
Check laptop power and graphics
Connect your laptop to power and select Best Performance in Windows power settings. Check that the game uses your dedicated GPU rather than integrated graphics: Windows Settings > System > Display > Graphics, or your NVIDIA or AMD control software. Test again before changing more settings.
If the problem continues
Submit a ticket to 505 Games through the Community and support page. Include the game version, PC specifications, what happened and where, steps to reproduce it, and an error message, screenshot or short video. Explain which checks you already tried. A repeatable example helps support investigate the issue.
